My skin has decided to act as if it's 14 years old again - spotty, red and bumpy. It's bloody horrible.
So after enough moaning, I took a trip to my fail-safe happy-skin place and invested in a rather large tub of LUSH Mask of Magnaminty. If you're a consistent reader of my blog, you'll know that I'm a massive fan of LUSH cosmetics for many many reasons, so I tend to turn to them when my skin plays up (and when I want a luxurious bath, a spa-like shower, a moisturised body, and so on...) I bought it in my rather large beauty haul post last month and I promised a review, so hopefully this is useful for some of you!
LUSH Mask of Magnaminty // £9.25 for 315g
The mask itself is designed for use on both the face and back (although it can be used on any parts of the body) and is targeted towards spotty, blemish prone skin. The super minty, tingly, cooling mask is thick and grainy, which is perfect as I really enjoy the light exfoliation I get when I'm removing the mask. What I do is cleanse my face with my regular cleanser, apply a thin layer of this to the whole of my face (avoiding the eye area), leave it on for up to 20 minutes and then wipe it off with a damp, warm muslin cloth. I'm left with really soft skin which feels so fresh and is oddly cool to the touch, but the best bit is that my skin isn't so red and blotchy. It really does calm my skin down and my spots and nasty bumpy bits are instantly reduced. It's hard to explain and it does sound too good to be true, but I'm always honest with my reviews and I can hands down say that I always see an improvement in my skin when I use this mask. This is my holy grail, definite repurchase skin treatment that I've been using for around 3 years now. If you're struggling with spotty, blemish prone skin, I'd highly recommend this over any of the other LUSH fresh face masks - this is the one that worked best for me, and I've tried them all.
And this is me, clowning around with two of my favourite
LUSH masks - looking like Mike Wazowski from Monsters inc.
Have you tried Mask of Magnaminty? Are there any other masks that you'd recommend?
Daniela
I might try this, although spots I get are hormonal so it probably wouldn't help.

I've been using it too and it's actually helped my hormonal spots so much! Takes away the redness and just calms it all down :) x

DeleteI've wanted to try this for a long time! I don't live near a LUSH and I can't get it online. I need to take a trip to this store soon!

Hey, ah pick one up the next time you venture to LUSH! Luckily you don't need to refrigerate this one and it also has a rather long expiry date :) Daniela xo
DeleteI have heard about it for long time but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Most of the time when I have breakouts I normally use Cosmetic warrior mask from Lush. It works really well too :)

DeleteDoes this mask 'dry' at all or does it stay quite wet? It might be just what I'm looking for at the moment!

Hello, it depends how much you put on if I'm honest. I tend to put quite a thick layer on so it remains quite wet, and I also leave it for a long time, but if you put a thin layer on then I think it would go dry. Hope this helps! Daniela xo
DeleteI really want to try LUSH face masks but I'm kind of put off by having to keep it in the fridge...
