• La Roche Posay Rosaliac CC Creme // review & demo •

I've been trying out the La Roche Posay Rosaliac CC Creme* for just over a week now, as I do with all of the products that I review, so I'm ready to give you my verdict. I love it. Over the past month I've experimented with different types of bases - liquid, mineral, BB - and I'm really very impressed with my new addition. I love the colour correcting aspect of the product and the fact that it provides long-lasting correction to redness, and the idea of my skin benefitting from this product throughout the day is a real plus point. I've never owned a product that is a combination of make up and skincare rolled into one, but it makes sense to correct the skin whilst covering imperfections!

I guess I didn't do my research, but I always thought that CC creams were just to even out skin tone without the coverage, but this product is thick enough to provide light coverage with one full pump. I was really chuffed about this as I'm often too lazy/running late in the mornings to have time to apply multiple products to my base, so when I first applied this I was really amazed. Products such as these make my routine so much quicker and I love the ease of it - just one pump will do me, massage it into my whole face and some concealer under my eyes. Job done!

I suffer from redness (as you can see in the photo below - although it wasn't too bad that day!) and this CC creme evens it out so beautifully. I often have to smother my redness with concealer as it flares up throughout the day, so I want it covered to the max, but with the CC creme I really didn't need to do that. It just corrected the redness with minimal product which surprised me, as few products have been able to do that. I also have enlarged pores around my nose area but they're hardly detectable when I use this product. The scars on my cheeks are covered and filled in, which is due to the light/buildable coverage. As long as these three boxes are ticked, I'm happy, as they're my three main skin concerns.

There are other things to consider, however, as there are so many positives about this product. Longevity, for instance, is great and the CC cream honestly looked as good 14 hours later as it did when I first applied it. It doesn't go cakey, patchy or cling to dry bits and it's super blendable so you don't end up with the tell-tale foundation line (as long as you blend the product in, of course). My skin feels moisturised throughout the day which is amazing, as most moisturisers tend to sink into my skin so quickly that they often don't last the whole day, but this product keeps my skin feeling soft to the touch. The product dries to a semi-dewy finish on my combination skin - I'd call it a satin finish - as it's not matte but not completely dewy, either. I just powdered my t-zone when I wore it as that area is where I tend to get shiny, but the product stayed where it was all day without me having to set it. There is a scent to the product which I quite like; it's a light and fresh scent but nothing offensive, so I don't see it as a negative at all.

Onto the sciency bit - the product is paraben-free so doesn't contain those nasties, it's hypoallergenic so is really gentle on the skin and won't irritate it, and is non-comodogenic meaning that it won't clog pores. The Ambophenol in the product is used to "reduce the size of blood vessels and strengthen their walls" (I definitely had to look this bit up!) and the product is enriched with La Roche Posay Thermal Spring Water, a popular product from the brand which soothes and softens sensitive skin. The CC Creme contains SPF30 against UVA and UVB rays so there's no need to apply your sun protection before hand.

Basically, this product is wonderful and I'm really interested in trying more from the La Roche Posay make up range. Their skincare is fantastic (a review will be up on the Effeclar Duo+ very soon!) and I'm equally as impressed with their make up. Products that just feel like skin, but are providing coverage and moisturisation, will always be winners in my eyes.

You can pick up the La Roche Posay Rosaliac CC Creme* from Escentual for £16.55 - it's on offer at the moment. There is one universal shade that's suited to fair/medium skin. Below are photos of how my skin looks before and after one application of the product and I used my fingers to work the product into my skin. You can build it up to increase the coverage, but for day to day wear I usually just apply one layer to cover my redness.
Have you tried the La Roche Posay CC Creme? Would you be interested in trying it? Let me know what you think.

  5. Such an amazing review! I've recently visited Boots to get a skin consultation as my skin was acting all crazy on me and I had a lot of redness going on, and the consultant recommended to me both the La Roche Posay Rosaliac CC Creme and the Effeclar Duo+. To be honest I am so happy she did, my skin feels and looks so much better after using both products. I can totally relate to what you said, I always thought that CC creams don't provide coverage but I was pleasantly surprised! The coverage is amazing and having all those plus as well as an SPF makes it even better. Such an amazing product and such an affordable price:) Have a lovely week.x

    1. Hello, thank you, so glad you enjoyed it! :) I agree with you, the La Roche Posay brand in general seems amazing. I picked up the Effeclar Duo+ too and I love it, my skin seems to clear a lot quicker after a break out when I use this regularly. I love that the CC Creme has so many benefits too - coverage, SPF, moisturising...it's a no brainer really! :) I hope you have a lovely week too! Daniela xo
